Close to Sambava, in the bank of a turquoise sea, the Melrose Hotel benefits from such a privileged site. À la découverte des aires protégées de Sambava

Accessible par la RN6 menant à Ambilobe, puis par la RN5 traversant la ville de Vohémar, en partance d’Antananarivo, Sambava est également reliée par voie aérienne. Des vols réguliers affrétés par la compagnie principale de Madagascar desservent également la ville à partir d’Antananarivo, Antsiranana au nord et Toamasina à l’est.  Sambava abrite trois réserves naturelles dont celle de Marojezy,  Anjanaharibe Sud et le parc national de Masoala qu’elle partage avec la ville de Maroantsetra.

Outre la culture de la vanille qui contribue à sa réputation internationale,  Sambava recèle également la plus grande cocoteraie du monde s’étendant sur plus de 4700 ha longeant 60 kilomètres du littoral nord-est de Madagascar. Le complexe produit des noix de semence hybride les plus performantes sur le marché international. Le marché d’Antaimby, qui a lieu tous les mardis est une opportunité pour déguster ces fruits succulents.  Après les randonnées et trekkings aux trois parcs, une séance de détente à la plage paradisiaque d’Ampandrozonana, située à 3 kilomètres au sud de Sambava s’impose.
